I mean I can sell every plane by auctioning them and then there are a lot of improvements, hangars, staff that you maybe still have. The price should be really cheap to make a good business of this acquisition.

I disagree, the price of an airline should be more than the sum of its component parts. When buying one while you could buy planes ect. Or could pay more for someone who has already gone through that and come up with something successful.

RE: Purchase of airlines
In an airline merger, one airline would have to buy 51% of the other company's shares. The money will come back to the airline anyway when the assets are merged.

In an airline purchase, one airline would pay the value of all planes, 51% of the shares, the amount of liquid funds, any gates, hangars, and other assets, and an agreed* markup.

*This could be as simple as:
Airline 1 checks out Airline 2's page, and sees that it is valued at $y.
Airline 1 clicks the "make offer" button, and proposed $x.
Airline 2 gets an automatic PM: "Airline 1 has made an offer of $x to purchase your airline. Your airline is valued at $y. Do you accept the offer?"
Airline 2 clicks no, then PM's Airline 1 "I want $10,000,000 more than you offered."
Airline 1 replies "ok", and makes another offer.
Airline 2 gets an automatic PM: "Airline 1 has made an offer of $(x+10,000,000) to purchase your airline. Your airline is valued at $y. Do you accept the offer?"
Airline 2 clicks "yes"

RE: Purchase of airlines
Really, since the airline has 51% of shares, it doesn't matter what the other shareholders think.

RE: Purchase of airlines
What happens if I´m selling my airline and I can´t find a buyer?

I can set all my airplanes on public sale. In CA we can sell our improvements but half price so in FH we should be able to set the improvements and other things on public sale too.

I´m talking about my desire of selling all my airline.

RE: Purchase of airlines
You aren't always going to find a buyer. You can shut down the airline like you suggested, or keep operating, or wait until a buyer appears.

Ohh sorry, since you just said the value of 51% I'd asumend this ment the airline didn't own then (they already have them), Would it not therefore make more sense to have the purchasing airline have to buy out the remaining share?

No, because with only 49% of the shares, than the purchasing airline would still have no control.

No, because with only 49% of the shares, than the purchasing airline would still have no control.

But surly the purchasing airline has to buy out the remaining share holders - that's the whole point.

I see what you mean, and I agree.
I thought you meant that the airline should only purchase the 49%
