I just wondered since I could not find a past thread about this what people though with regard to airline purchases/mergers?

Well, I think that there should be a page for airlines that are up for sale at a price set by the game user. I think dbd already has a page in-game for mergers.

But I mean how do people think they should work (especially mergers) do both players get equal control over the airline, or something else?

I would not like to lose control of my own airline. Each one must operate its own aircraft, destinations and money. The merger should have the following purposes:

1. Account sitting
2 Redistribution of profits as a codeshare agreement where percentage can be changed at any time (50-50, 30-70, 20-80 etc).
3. Using the gates and improvements of both airlines.

But surely the first point is the downside of the merger, every decision has to have a downside. Also this is the main point of a merger - and lastly, if using it for account sitting then surely you would want to unmerge the airlines at some point?

When the airlines merge, the CEOs of each airline could have different specific duties. One does financial and one does routes, one does buying/leasing planes and the other plans the routes or whatever.

That appears to be about mergers - not purchases.

So, I guess the person who sold his airline can start over with the money he got from the sale.

What is the use of selling an airline?

I mean I can sell every plane by auctioning them and then there are a lot of improvements, hangars, staff that you maybe still have. The price should be really cheap to make a good business of this acquisition.
