The first two I will need for the Google Maps API. The last two can be removed.[hr]and we will have airports with small runways so that regional airlines can operate on a regional level.

I'm pretty sure you'll need the lat/long of the airport so flight distances can be calculated
When you say no airports with less than 8,000' runways, I presume you just mean in the start of game development. Otherwise there'd only be a few hundred airports. (tbh, 8,000' is a long runway. ~3,000' is short imo)

I'd say 2500-3500 feet should be the least.

You know..there is an airport in Fiji (in CA) that is waaay too short.
"Runway: 1,950 ft (595 m)."
Anyways, I think that no airports under 8,000 should be added. It's a pain to buy special (aka random, crap) aircraft that you'll use just to land once on an extremely short runway.
Ok. If you don't want to fly to a small airport then don't. Nobody says you have to fly anywhere.[hr] (07-30-201409:09 PM)yangc9635 Wrote: (07-30-201409:05 PM)Weston Wrote: I'd say 2500-3500 feet should be the least.
I'd prefer 5,000 feet.
I'd say 2500 feet.

8,000' is not short at all. Concorde has landed at Cardiff's maintenance base before and that has a 7,848' runway. My local airport has a 6,600' runway and has had fully loaded 767s and 757s land at it a lot in the past serving destinations in the USA and it handles A319s, A320s, A321s and B737s on a regular basis

that's a whole new thread.

Also, we shouldn't add airports that have short runways (aka less than 8,000 feet.) It's a pain to fly to them. yes but there probally wont be a CC, and if your like me, the small airports are important. I ran an airline out of ILM for the longest time and it did fine
