United Airlines has just announced the appointment of Linda Lojo as the airlines new Chief Information Officer, meaning she is now in control of the development and implication of technology at the massive airline. "Linda's significant experience leading IT organizations and running complex business and consumer systems will be a tremendous asset to United as we advance our technology to become more efficient and better serve our customers and employees," said United's CEO Jeff Smisek. Lojo has previously served as CIO at Rogers Communications, Energy Future Holdings Corporation, Flowserve Corporation and GE Silicones.

United former CIO Bob Edwards announced his retirement earlier in the year

Lojo has a bachelors in computer science and a master's in industrial engineering.
