17 US States Sue President Obama

Source: http://www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way/2014...on-actions

A group of 17 states, led by Texas, are suing President Obama over the constitutionality of his Executive Order on immigration. The order protects 5 million illegal immigrants from deportation, which Attorney General of Texas Greg Abbott, who filed the claim, says "tramples" the Constitution.

Texas was joined by Alabama, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, North Carolina, South Carolina, South Dakota, Utah, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.

So, especially the non-US-residents, what do you think of this?
Personally, I think that this was a right move to make, even as a symbolic gesture. I believe that states should stand up to our federal government, when they fail to do what is right for the country as a whole, as well as individual states, counties, municipalities, and law-abiding citizens.
(I wrote a short [s]essay[/s] paper on the executive order, which I don't think I'll post because it A) hasn't been graded yet, and B) is 100% opinion Tongue)

It takes 15 years for one to legally immigrate to the U.S., and minutes for an illegal immigrant to cross the border. This Executive Order shows favoritism for those who don't legally immigrate-and if this is so, then anyone who wishes to immigrate to America should be able to, but obviosuly, this is not the case, hence why it should be struck down. Of course, I was expecting Texas to voice the loudest complaints. Tongue

Well, I didn't really think that Obama would be sued by actual states. (I didn't know it was actually possible for a state to sue...)

PREACH IT NORTH CAROLINA, TELL DAT PREZIDENT WHOS BOSS. AND IF HE DONT LISTEN THEM WE'LL CUT OFF HIS SWEET POTATOES. RIGHT IN TIME FOR DA HOLIDAYS Tongue

and yes states can sue (I mean North Carolina has smart people in there). Let's be honest Obama needs a good stern talking to by Jesus!!! (praying emojis), because that's the person he might listen to right now.

*BTW look for something coming out of Obama breaking the War Powers act by having troops in Iraq for more than 60 days without permission

In all seriousness (now that I'm less hype about Obama being sued), I think that this says something but really nothing will happen. I mean congress doesn't want to impeach Obama because 100% of his supporters are protesting about Ferguson and if their going to "burn this b*tch down" (referring to Michael Brown's step dads comment after the grand jury decision) they'll start a full on revolt because it hurts the feelings of African Americans :p

Ferguson...The rioters are a discrace.... (I side with the cop on this one)

The chokehold guy... I don't really agree with the grand jury's decision, but still, rioting is unacceptable, and @protesters: I wasn't aware that NY traffic could get any work.

The now 26 states that sued Obama have (temporarily) succeeded:
